Student Life
London
First arriving in London as a student can be a bit daunting. London is a large cosmopolitan city that can at first seem impersonal, hard to navigate and massive. However, once you get settled you will find it to be a city of villages with each neighborhood representing different cultures, backgrounds and food. Studying and living in London is the chance of a lifetime; don't let it pass you by.
You should have a look at all there is to do in and around London on the Get to Know London page, but being an INSTEP-WFU student in London does afford you some benefits that the typical tourist never gets to experience.
Located in Bloomsbury is Senate House Library (the main library of the University of London) where all INSTEP-WFU students are members. Whether you are just looking for a place to study or looking for sources, you'll find this library is one of the top in Europe.
INSTEP-WFU London students have a unique priviledge to be temporary members of the Imperial College Union. Imperial College is a member campus of the University of London and being a member of its Union gives students the opportunity to meet and interact with local university students. Whether joining one of the many Clubs and Societies, attending social events, or just using the facilites, students will find an abundance of things to to.
Another important aspect of being a student in London is the ability to travel to other parts of the United Kingdom and Europe. While your studies should take priority over travel, with good study habits and time management students find ample time to explore. Check out our dedicated page on travel possibilities from London.
